Fee summary
At Mirambeena we work with the Building Waterfalls framework within the Early Years Learning Framework.

We cater for babies from 3 months of age to school age children. It is the pre-prep rooms which are affiliated with the C & K. We have University trained Early Childhood Teachers in these 2 rooms.

Summary of Fees are as follows as of January 1 2012: Babies-$72per day
Toddlers-$66 per day
Pre-prep children in the Kindergarten program-$66per day

Children are able to attend any days which they require to meet the families' needs. We encourage a minimum of 2 days per week.

Mirambeena provides 3 meals per day, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Also supplied are sheets for the bedding, sunscreen and hats.

Babies and toddlers are asked to provide their own nappies and any formula they may need.Mothers are encouraged to come to the centre to breast feed their child at times suitable to them. Staff in the babies room puree the food when children are beginning to eat solids.
CCB is applicable to all fees.

Age groupings

Our babies room has babies from 3 months of age to approximately 2 years of age. There is a maximum of 8 children in the room to 2 carers, a Group Leader and an Assistant. We call our Babies' room, Gumnuts.

The toddlers room, the Possums, caters for the 2 to 3 years of age and we have a maximum of 12 children to 2 carers in this room, a Group Leader and an Assistant.

Mirambeena has 2 pre-prep rooms. The younger of the 2 rooms has children from 3 years of age. This is the Kookaburras room and has a maximum of 18 children to 2 carers. The older room is the Butterflies and has children from 3 1/2 years of age and has a maximum of 22 children to 2 carers. Because these 2 rooms are affiliated with C & K we have University trained Early Childhood qualified teachers and the Assistants are trained Group Leaders. It is in these 2 rooms that we have fully implemented the C&K's Building Waterfalls program. The other rooms have been implementing this program to suit.

Children stay in their age appropriate room until their next birthday. Once there is a vacancy in the next room they can transition after visiting a few times. Parents are encouraged to meet the staff and join in the program where possible before the child officially moves into this next room.

Because we are currently at our maximum enrolments, some children need to wait a while before they can move up. The program in such cases is adjusted according to children's needs, interests and abilities.

Additional services

We pride ourselves in our multicultural community. We have staff from many cultures, covering a diverse range of ages and years of experience. Our families are also from a wide range of cultures.

Our centre supports the need to offer ourselves as a training facility for students from high school doing work experience to students studying tertiary courses as part of their practical experience in early childhood. We are able to access a cultural support worker if needed.

Children with additional needs are supported through the employment of an assistant to facilitate their involvement with other children/routines etc.

We pride ourselves in our natural and sustainable environment, where playing on turf, cultivating our vegetable garden, recycling our paper, feeding our worm farm and looking after our 3 hens are part of our outdoor programme. Our emergent programme follows children's interests where activities are based on their interests at the time. Staff extend these interests through communication, diverse and stimulating activities.
